Tok LOGOTok LOGO  Fife Century Road Club     1931 - 2009  Tok LOGOTok LOGO

Fife Century original Club Colours

The club was formed in 1931 and originally comprised of members who could do a 'century'  A traditional Century = 100 miles in 8 hours  It should be remembered that this feat was undertaken prior to the invention of "Tri-bars" and most of the technology modern bikes now have as standard. This entry requirement has since been waived.
The original club racing colours can be seen on the left and the current design can be seen in the photo alongside the old Cofidis colours of David Millar.
For 24 years the club organised the Tour of the Kingdom, one of the top races in Britain, and was a main event in the Premier Calendar  A series of 10 races designed to find the best roadman in Britain series. Today we enjoy training and racing both on and off-road along with other Fife clubs. On the 2nd Sunday in Feb we run our Reliability Trials. Most of the year there are Saturday & Sunday morning training runs. The Glenrothes group leaves Colydean Footbridge 9:30 and meets the North Fife group at Cupar (Tesco's) at 10. During the off-season from Oct - March there are 1hr+ training runs on Tuesday at 6:30. Meet at Fife Institute for 5 short steady laps of a street-lit circiut, or Lidl's for longer faster laps around the town.
During the racing season from April to September we have Tuesday training runs and mid-week time trial racing. There is also a scenic 12.6 mile TT round Loch Leven.
